Dimensions: 64mm x 38mm x 2.3mm, approximately half the size of a credit card

Setting up a New Wallet#

  1. Press the leftmost C button to power on and set the language.

  2. Set a PIN code. The requirement is 6-8 digits and consecutive or repeated numbers are not allowed. Use the up and down buttons to select the digits, press the OK button to confirm, and the C button to cancel.

  3. Create a new wallet, which will generate a 12-word mnemonic phrase.

  1. Copy the mnemonic phrase onto paper in order and keep it safe.

  1. After verifying the mnemonic phrase, initialize the wallet.

  2. After initialization is complete, the hardware wallet homepage will be displayed.

Connecting to the imToken Wallet on Mobile#

  1. Open the imToken wallet on your mobile device, go to "Manage your wallet," and select "Connect Hardware" to connect the hardware wallet via Bluetooth. Enter the Binding code displayed on the imKey Pro to establish a successful connection.

Adding a Network#

  1. The imToken wallet supports major public chains, most EVM-compatible chain networks, and also allows for adding custom networks. Using Crossbell as an example, follow these steps to add a network.

Transferring Funds#

  1. Initiate a transfer on the imToken wallet on your mobile device.

During the "Request confirmation from imKey" step, confirm and sign the transaction on the imKey Pro wallet as shown below.

After that, on the imToken wallet on your mobile device, you will see "Sending" and the transaction will be sent. You can then navigate to the corresponding scan to view the transaction details.

DApp Interaction#

  1. As an example, let's access Uniswap. Use the built-in browser in the imToken wallet to search for Uniswap and open the website.

Security

As a hardware wallet, the imKey Pro's security is almost beyond question. According to the imKey Pro official website, it uses military-grade CC EAL 6+ secure chips.

Summary

  • Personally, I believe that the security of hardware wallets is nothing to worry about. The only thing to pay attention to is to securely store the mnemonic phrase.
  • The imKey Pro can be paired with the imToken wallet on a mobile device via Bluetooth, and the user interface is user-friendly for imToken users.
  • It supports all digital assets and blockchain networks supported by imToken 2.0, as well as various Mainnet and Testnet networks. It also allows for adding new networks for EVM-compatible chains.
  • If DApp interaction is needed, websites can be opened through the built-in browser in the imToken wallet.
  • If PC interaction is needed, the imKey Pro needs to be connected to the PC via a data cable and the imKey client for PC needs to be downloaded, which is less convenient compared to using a mobile device.
  • One mnemonic phrase can only correspond to one wallet address. It does not support advanced features like BIP-39 Passphrase, so managing multiple addresses can be cumbersome. However, for most users, as a cold wallet for asset storage, it is sufficient. Each wallet will have its own limitations, and more features can increase the complexity of use.
  • It cannot be connected to a PC via Bluetooth and does not support browser extensions like MetaMask.
  • If PC interaction is required, WalletConnect can be used.
  • The battery life seems to be not very durable.
  • Every time it is powered on, a password needs to be entered, which is inconvenient (unlike OneKey, which allows entering the password on a mobile device/PC).

The above represents my personal opinion. If there are any inaccuracies, please kindly correct me!
